This book never quite materializes as to what it would like to be. I was disappointed.
This book... where to begin?!! First off, Ware’s writing never ceases to amaze me. It evokes a true longing to read and read because the stories are so real and so complicated. Every time I thought I had guessed the ending of this book (multiple times I was willing Harriet to know what I did), I was wrong! It’s almost as if Ware knew where your mind would be taking you and she then whipped the story around and threw you off the scent. The story within the wonderful writing of “The Death of Mrs. Westaway” is both heart-wrenching and uplifting. You can’t help but feel overwhelmed by how real and raw the characters’ emotions are. It’s almost as if you’re a part of the story - in the room with them even! I won’t share more about the story for fear of writing spoilers.
For any fans of Ware’s other books, prepare yourself. This is the best yet! For those who don’t know Ware, please do yourself a favor and read this book!! Then, go read all her other ones.
It was just ok. She has the tendency to write the same things over and over again. Character and scene description redundancy was a bit tiring. Unsatisfying ending. Blah.
Loved it, I have read all her other books, I think I will put this as my favorite. Could not put it down, lots of twist, just an exciting read.
I wouldnt put this book down! Took only two days for me to read. I fell in love with her other books and knew I shouldnt skip this one.
Ruth has such a beautiful way of making the reader sympathize with her characters and the desperate need to know how everything ends up..I am a true fan!
